I’m very excited to announce a new segment: In the Kitchen. Since I pretty much neglected my blog last year due to lack of inspiration and striving for perfection (a bad combo), I decided to experiment with a new idea of mine that sparked from a Reddit post on r/coolguides. The r/coolguides subreddit features picture-based reference guides on various topics. One guide I came across was on ‘40 cookies from around the world’, and since I love to bake, I thought it would be a fun project to make these cookies and write about how they came to be both in our world and in my kitchen. This won’t be instructional, meaning that I won’t be writing about how to make the cookies although I will provide a link to the recipe I used and maybe some tips. The overall idea will be to go over a brief history of each cookie, possible tweaks I made to the recipe, and how they turned out. I won’t be going in alphabetical order by country, but will select which cookie to make either based on a holiday, an event, or what I just feel like making.
